ECM & Module Repair

When the computer itself is the problem, most shops wave the white flag. Engine control modules, body modules, network faults — diagnosed at the advanced level, repaired or replaced, and programmed with OEM factory equipment right here.

What We Do

The diagnosis most shops can’t finish

A code tells you a circuit complained — it doesn’t tell you whether the module failed, its inputs lied, or the wiring between them broke. Advanced-level diagnosis means proving which one it is before a dollar gets spent on parts. That’s a breakout box on the network, a meter on the pins, and the module itself on the bench — not a parts cannon.

  • ECM / PCM and body-module fault diagnosis — in the car and at the connector level
  • No-start and no-communication conditions: power, ground, and network (CAN bus) testing before condemning any computer
  • Module repair or replacement — including water-damage and corrosion cases
  • OEM factory programming, coding, and module marriage after replacement — the step that leaves other shops stuck at the dealer
  • Root-cause repair of what killed the module — charging faults, chafed harnesses, water leaks — so the fix stays fixed
FAQ

Module questions, straight answers

My car won't communicate with any scanner — is the ECM dead?
Maybe — but a no-communication condition is just as often power, ground, or network wiring to the module. We test the circuits before condemning the computer, because a $60 wiring repair beats a $1,500 module every time.
Do I have to go to the dealer for module programming?
No. We run OEM factory computer equipment for the brands we service, which means replacement modules get programmed, coded, and married to your car here — dealer-level capability without the dealer visit.
Can a failing ECM cause problems that look like something else?
Constantly. Random misfires, phantom sensor codes, stalling, transmissions acting up — module and network faults mimic mechanical problems, which is why parts-swapping never fixes them. Advanced diagnosis isolates whether it’s the module, its inputs, or the wiring between.
What causes ECMs to fail?
Water intrusion and corrosion, voltage spikes from bad jump-starts or failing charging systems, heat cycling, and damaged wiring chafing into the harness. Part of our job is fixing the cause so the replacement doesn’t die the same death.

Scanner says “no communication”?

Don’t buy a module on a guess. Call first — Mon–Sat, 8 to 6.
